Acne Home Remedies

Acne is the most common skin disorder which predictably occurs first during the teenage. It is a skin condition that shows up as different types of bumps. They include whiteheads, blackheads, red bumps (pimples), and bumps that are filled with pus (cysts)whiteheads, red or yellow spots, greasy skin, scars. Diet and Good Nutrition Good nutrition is the foundation for healthy skin. A well-balanced diet will ensure that your body receives the vitamins and mineral it needs to support and maintain the health of the skin. Although acne is not a serious health threat, severe acne can lead to disfiguring, permanent scarring, which can be upsetting to people who are affected by the disorder. Acne can also occur on the neck and upper arms. Acne is a term to describe pores on the face, neck, chest, upper arms, and back that may be plugged. Acne affects a large percentage of humans at some stage in life. Treatment of acne begins with keeping the affected areas clean without using harsh abrasive cleaners, which can irritate already sensitive skin.

Acne Home Remedies

Here are some Home Remedies that some people have found helpful in stopping acne:

  • Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne.
  • Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight.
  • First wash face and then dab acne with cotton balls soaked in vinegar.
  • A face pack made with either gram flour or lentil powder and half a teaspoonful of turmeric can be used on alternate days. If you are sensitive to gram flour, replace with lentil powder.
  • Mint has been used to stop acne for centuries.
  • Holding a cube of ice on acne before bed should visibly decrease the inflammation and swelling. It may also reduce the chances of scarring after your skin has cleared up.
  • Simple home vinegar is an effective acne cleanser. Mix it with a little salt and gently rub into your face. Wash off in about 30 minutes.
  • Honey and cinnamon (Use this poultice at night and remove it the next morning with warm water.)
  • Use the juice of a fresh, raw papaya to relieve swelling acne.
